Minutes September 2009

President John Steffen was absent and Vice-President Mike Craig called the meeting of American Legion Riders Post 1115 to order.

Pledge of Allegiance was performed.

Roll Call: Members present were Bob Becraft, Mark Carr, Michael Craig, Terry Seils, Bernie Chase, Byron Baker and Jim Petty. There were no guests.

Secretary Bernie Chase postponed the reading of August minutes until October meeting. Minutes from all meetings will be posted to website this week.

No New members were introduced and welcomed to the chapter.

Mark Carr deferred the financial report to October meeting.

Ride Captain, Bob Becraft, reported that members Dave Dintleman, Mark Carr & John Steffen rode at the Illinois State Fair Parade. Members also rode in the Old Settler’s Day Parade in Lacon, Illinois. Mark Carr John Steffen and Ben Broyles attended that event. On August 29, the Ride for the Troops event was attended by members Terry Seils, Byron Baker, Karen Miller, John Steffen, Mark Carr and all the other members that attended, thanks for the support.

No sick call to report except poor old Bernie’s cold.

Old business: Mike Craig and Bob Becraft worked the State Fair in the beer tent raising money for our Legion Chapter. They were treated well and were invited to bring 6 members back next year to work a night shift 6pm to Midnight. If we do this, they will put us up in a hotel for the night. Membership agreed to submist the request to the State Legion officials.

Bob Becraft reported the 2010 Calendars arrived and will be distributed at the end of the meeting. He reported that 17 calendars were already sold at the Friday night dinner at the Legion.

In new business, Terry Seils reported on a Friday ride on September 18th supporting a Vietnam Vets organization in Sunnyland. More details will be posted on the website.

Our Chapter will be getting together to ride in the BASH parade on September 19th starting at Town & County Bowling Alley in Peoria. Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. with departure at 11:00 a.m. to the American Legion Post 979 – 4501 Airport Rd., Bartonville, IL.

Bob Becraft discussed the Hodgie Run details for this coming Saturday the 12th. Members were assigned jobs to supervise the party. Mike Craig / Bartender Support; Terry Seils / ALR Signup table; Randy Houston / Band Support; Byron Baker & Karen Miller / Bathroom; Mark Carr / Garbage; Jim Petty / Parking. All members will be helping as needed in all of the areas. Byron Baker will call to get a quote for Portable Potties to be agreed on by the Legion.

For the good of the ALR there was no discussion.

Byron Baker motioned to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Bob Becraft. The motion was voted on and passed with 6 yea’s and 1 nay by Terry Seils. Motion carried and meeting was adjourned.
